Here I Am, Lord

Here I am, Lord,
Going about my everyday life,
So many distractions pulling me this way and that.

Here I am, Lord,
Sidetracked by today’s seemingly important tasks,
Cell phone, e-mail, the must-see TV show.

Here I am, Lord,
Finally sitting to hear your call,
Interruptions, interference, bothersome thoughts ignored.

Here I am, Lord,
Waiting, silent, still,
Inviting your saving grace,
Your loving heart, to heal my every flaw.

Here I am, Lord,
Take my soul into your hands.
Make me whole.
Amen.
